Why I Do This: My Story & Mission
From the moment I was old enough to hold a kitten, I was hooked. Cats, whether big or small, have always been a part of my life. Their beauty, independence, and grace are endlessly captivating. But what began as a childhood love for domestic cats has grown into a deep passion for all felines - wild and domestic alike.
About me
I’ve grown up with cats my whole life, and my love for them has shaped who I am today. From an early age, I was fascinated by their unique personalities, intelligence, and independence. That love for domestic cats naturally led me to develop a deep admiration for their wild relatives - tigers, lions, leopards, and all the incredible big cats that roam our planet. The more I learned about them, the more I realized how endangered so many of these species are, and I knew I wanted to do something to help.
In August 2024, I created @myanimaladventure, a page dedicated to all animals and conservation. At first, I shared content about a wide range of species, raising awareness about wildlife and the threats they face. But over time, I found myself drawn more and more to felines. Their beauty, power, and importance in the ecosystem fascinated me, and I knew this was where my true passion lay. It was only a matter of time before I shifted my focus completely, leading to the creation of @zaraswildlife - a platform dedicated entirely to felines, both big and small.
Why I Created This Website
With the growing threats to wild cats - habitat destruction, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict - felt a deep call to action. These magnificent creatures need our help, and I knew I couldn’t stand by. This website is the heart of that mission, a platform where I can share their stories, highlight urgent conservation efforts, and provide practical ways for people to get involved. My goal is to create a space that not only educates but also empowers individuals to take meaningful steps toward protecting wild cats and their habitats.
But the focus isn’t just on the iconic big cats. Did you know there are over 30 species of wild cats, many of which remain overlooked in conservation discussions? From the elusive clouded leopard to the tiny yet fierce black-footed cat, these lesser-known species are just as vital to maintaining the delicate balance of their ecosystems. These wild cats face the same struggles as the well-known big cats - habitat loss, poaching, and climate change - but often receive far less attention. I want to change that. I’m committed to shining a light on these extraordinary animals and ensuring they don’t fade into the shadows of extinction.
And, of course, my love for domestic cats - who’ve been companions and friends - has shaped much of my journey. Whether it’s learning more about their unique behaviours, promoting responsible pet ownership, or simply celebrating the comfort and joy they bring into our lives, domestic cats hold a special place on this site too.
While my journey into feline conservation is still unfolding, this platform allows me to share my growing passion and commitment to these incredible creatures. I may not yet have direct field experience or professional connections, but I am constantly learning, exploring, and advocating for wild and domestic cats in any way I can. My goal is to inspire others to get involved and to keep moving toward a future where these majestic animals are protected for generations to come.
My Passion & What I Hope to Achieve
For me, felines have always been a source of fascination - whether it's the majestic roar of a lion or the playful antics of a domestic kitten. Every wild cat, no matter how small, plays an important role in the ecosystem, and my goal is to raise awareness about all feline species. Big cats, like tigers and leopards, often steal the spotlight, but it's equally important to shed light on smaller wild cats like the clouded leopard or the black-footed cat, who face the same threats but are often overlooked. Through this website, I want to:

Support Conservation Efforts by collaborating with organizations doing incredible work to protect wild and domestic cats alike.
Create a Community of cat lovers, advocates, and wildlife enthusiasts who are dedicated to protecting felines and raising awareness.
